DMC Employee Potentially Exposed to COVID-19

Provided by DMC College Relations OfficE

COVID-19 UPDATE
May 29, 2020 (5:50 p.m.)

Late yesterday, Del Mar College received information that an employee who had been working on campus with other college employees and students was notified of a possible exposure to COVID-19. As a result, that College employee has been asked to self-isolate.

While there is currently no positive COVID-19 test result, the College is following internal health and safety protocols. The one employee who has been asked to self-isolate will be re-evaluated once test results related to the possible exposure are verified. Eight other employees and five students were notified today of the potential exposure and were asked to self-monitor for symptoms; the group is not required to self-isolate at this time.

The area on campus in which the potential exposure occurred is being disinfected and will be available for use by Monday morning.

The health and safety of our students and employees remain our top priority at Del Mar College. All College facilities remained closed to the public. Only restricted access for approved employees and designated students is allowed at this time.
