It's Famous For A Reason! DMC Foundation's Signature Fundraising Event Set For April 12

Summary

Article by: Melinda Eddleman

It’s crawfish time, again! The Del Mar College (DMC) Foundation and Trustee Emeritus Bernie Paulson are ramping up for their annual “Bernie’s Famous Crawfish Boil” scheduled Thursday, April 12, to raise funds for DMC student scholarships. This time, however, the event will serve up some South Texas Country flair.

This year also marks the tenth anniversary for the DMC Foundation’s signature fundraising event.

The all-you-can-eat crawfish boil runs from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. at the Concrete Street Old Market Pavilion, 717 Power Street. The event features both live and silent auctions, caricatures, face painting, a photo booth and more … not to mention live Texas Country Music to put you in a dancing mood with the sounds of John Eric Hernandez.

The Crawfish Boil has become our signature event where guests enjoy amazing food and great entertainment in a casual atmosphere while raising money for student scholarships at Del Mar College. Participants really do change lives and make a difference for our students by supporting the Foundation’s fundraising efforts.
Mary McQueen, Executive Director of Development/DMC Foundation

In 2017, the DMC Foundation awarded $1.6 million in scholarships to more than 1,500 students thanks to the support received every year.

For participants planning to attend, the menu includes crawfish, shrimp and sausage, along with all the fixings (veggies), and tea, sodas and an open bar. Individuals are asked to purchase tickets or RSVP by Monday, April 9.

Individual tickets are $200 per person. Tables of eight and scholarship sponsorships are also available starting at $1,500. Proceeds from this event benefit the DMC Foundation General Scholarship Fund.
