Registration for Spring 2018 Semester Still Ongoing Before Winter Break

Article by: Melinda Eddleman

Del Mar College’s two-week Winter Break is fast approaching! Individuals planning to attend spring 2018 credit courses and wanting to get the best selection have until 5 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 19, for on-campus assistance and registration before the College closes.

Online Registration will remain open during the break.

Winter Break runs Wednesday, Dec. 20, through Tuesday, Jan. 2, with campuses re-opening at 7:30 a.m. on Jan. 3. Tuition and fee payments are due by 6:30 p.m. on Jan. 3 for both campus and online registration conducted between Dec. 5 and Jan. 3.

What happens if individuals don’t pay? Schedules are dropped from the system to open seats for the next registration opportunity. Do you know what that means? Dropped individuals will have to register, again.

Course offerings for the spring semester include 8-, 14-, 15- and 16-week sessions; Rapid Track III and IV sessions and the Maymester.

Classes begin Tuesday, Jan. 16, due to the College’s Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday closing on Jan. 15.

Registrants are encouraged to visit the East and West Campuses to talk with representatives in the Student Enrollment Centers, Financial Aid Offices and even with staff in the Business Offices to set up an installment plan if needed. These resources are located in the East Campus Harvin Student Center (Ayers and Baldwin) and the West Campus Coleman Center (Old Brownsville and Airport Roads).

“Final On-campus / Late Registration” is scheduled Saturday, Jan. 6, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.; Tuesday, Jan. 9, from 7:30 a.m. to 8 p.m.; and Wednesday, Jan. 10, from 7:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Online Registration is also available. Jan. 10 is the final registration date.

Payment is due the day individuals register during these dates.
