Sound Recording Technology Program Produces Some Cool Jazz

Article by: College Relations Office

As everyone heads into the new year, take the time to listen to some cool jazz provided by the DMC Music Department's Sound Recording Technollgy (SRT) program. Even though the SRT Studio A production of The Red One Two by Pat Metheny and John Scofield (1993) was posted on Dec. 18, 2018, what a great way to start the spring 2020 semester at Del Mar College!

Of the jam session, Dr. Paul Bissell, Professor of Sound Recording Technology, notes,"Tthe origina [piece] had two guitars, but I couldn’t find another guitarist in time to do the tune. I got the keyboardist on reference from the trumpet player. I met him for the first time 15 minutes before the session began (that has happened before as well). He is great, and it worked out well I think."

It sure did! HAPPY NEW YEAR!
