CBSHRM 2018 "Hire Me" Job Fair Set for May 18 to Connect Area Employers with Job Seekers

Looking for work can be challenging. Feeling confident is key, but does your resume reflect the skills and experience employers seek and will the application you filled out ensure you get an interview for the job you want?

Area job seekers can get answers and advice from human resource professionals during the 2018 “HIRE ME” Job Fair on Friday, May 18, at the Del Mar College Center for Economic Development, located at 3209 S. Staples.

The FREE event is co-hosted by the Coastal Bend Society for Human Resource Management (CBSHRM) and Del Mar College. The job fair runs 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. with early admission at 9 a.m. for veterans.

Whether participants attend to speak with potential employers or just need advice on how to improve their resume, the HIRE ME Job Fair offers a variety of resources to get job seekers on the right track toward employment. Anyone looking for a job, come prepared with the intention to say, ‘HIRE ME!’

The 2018 “HIRE ME” Job Fair features Coastal Bend employers from a variety of sectors including education, energy, financial, food, health care, hospitality, industry, tourism, transportation and more, along with several employment agencies participating. Job seekers should bring plenty of resumes and dress to impress potential employers because they may be asked to interview onsite.

Among employers currently signed up are AFLAC, Behavioral Health Center of Nueces County, Charlie’s Place Recovery Center, Cintas Corporation, City of Corpus Christi, Corpus Christi Regional Transportation Authority, Del Mar College, H-E-B Grocery Company, Holiday Inn Downtown Corpus Christi, L.K. Jordan & Associates, Navy Army Community Credit Union, Omni Corpus Christi, South Texas Lighthouse for the Blind, Sterling Personnel, Inc., Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi, Texas State Aquarium, The Purple Door, TPCO America Corporation, voestalpineand Weichert Realtors: The Place of Houses.

There’s still time for employers to sign up for this year’s fair!

The event also includes resume reviews, application tips to help job seekers get that interview, recommendations about interview techniques and how to dress to impress since “first impressions are lasting impressions.”
