Students are learning how to drive 18-wheelers, but there’s something else Del Mar’s future truck drivers are watching closely, the price of diesel. Diesel prices have climbed sharply, putting additional pressure on truck drivers and trucking companies that rely on fuel to move goods across Texas and the country. In response, Governor Greg Abbott has issued a statewide disaster proclamation tied to the diesel fuel shortage.

Del Mar College baking student wins Golden Ticket to World Food Championships in Indianapolis

A Del Mar College student is heading to the World Food Championships in Indianapolis next month after winning a Golden Ticket at the Texas Food Championship in Corpus Christi this weekend. Baking/Pastry Program major Alyana Willingham competed as a solo entry in the Dessert Category, preparing a lemon olive oil cake.
