Welding Program Receives $8,000 Check from Texas Chemistry Alliance

On March 27, the Texas Chemistry Alliance (TCA) presented an $8,000 check through the Del Mar College Foundation to faculty of the College’s Welding Applied Technology Program to support initiatives that include the Día de los Muertos Welding Competition that the program now holds each fall. The presentation took place at the Metals Technology Building on the Windward Campus, and the funds were raised during TCA’s Sweethearts and Shotguns Clay Shoot held at Bevly Farms on Feb; 23 that included participation by DMC Welding representatives. Supported by Valero and now scheduled to be held annually, the event celebrates women in industry.
