Cosmetology Program Offering FREE Back-t0-School Haircuts Aug. 1-4 for K-12 Students

Del Mar College’s Dual Credit Cosmetology students providing service as area students prepare for first day of classes; appointments and walk-ins are welcome

Article by Melinda Eddleman

Going back to school is usually a big deal for most kindergarten through high school students. And, getting a fresh haircut before that first day of classes is part of the preparatory routine.

But for many families this year, the cost of getting a haircut for their youth before school starts can be costly, especially with the inflationary prices for everything else such as school supplies and new clothing.

Del Mar College’s Dual Credit Cosmetology students have the solution … FREE haircuts! Area K-12 students can get their back-to-school haircut Monday through Thursday, Aug. 1-4, and save some of that green in their parents’ wallets. Haircuts will be provided from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. all four days, and both appointments and walk-ins are welcome.

Haircuts will be provided in Room 211 of the Flato Technology Building on the College’s Windward Camus at 4101 Old Brownsville Road. Use the Boaz Blvd. entryway off Airport Road with the facility located directly to the right when entering the campus. For directions to the Windward Campus and a campus map, click here.

For more information or to make an appointment, contact DMC Dual Credit Cosmetology Instructor  Lissa Gonzalez at 698-1782 or email lgonzale43@delmar.edu.
