Del Mar College (DMC) is moving forward into a new era. Refreshing the College’s logo design and renaming its campuses are part of the rebranding initiative to update the institution’s image as DMC expands to Corpus Christi’s southside. Both community and campus input were part of the process.

After presenting outcomes to the Board of Regents during the regular meeting on Aug. 10, DMC Regents voted to approve the new rebranding package as presented.

Campus names will change to Del Mar College Heritage Campus (East), Del Mar College Windward Campus (West) and Del Mar College Oso Creek Campus (South).

DMC officials worked with the College’s advertising agency of record, Anderson Marketing Group, and conducted virtual focus groups among students, faculty and staff as well as the general public to develop initial rebranding options. The College’s campus community then voted to determine two final options for presentation to the Board of Regents.

Participants had the opportunity to learn more about the rebranding process and provided input on various naming options for the three DMC campuses with southside facilities opening in summer 2022 and spring 2023. The final campus names are considered sub-brands of the College’s overall brand.

The process does not change the College’s name or its mascot, Valdar the Viking.
