Del Mar College no longer requiring masks to comply with Governor’s Executive Order

College moves to Phase 3 of Return-to-Campus Plan

Article by DMC College Relations

Beginning today, May 21, Del Mar College will no longer require the use of masks or facial coverings at any DMC location in compliance with Governor Greg Abbott’s Executive Order No. GA-36. However, the health and safety of DMC students, employees and guests as a foremost concern, the College strongly encourages everyone to continue observing health and safety practices, including the use of facial coverings and social distancing.

Del Mar College continues to prioritize the health and safety of students, employees and guests while they are on campus or visiting one of our centers. While following Gov. Abbott’s Executive Order regarding masks, we are continuing other practices such as social distancing and other measures, especially for those who are not vaccinated, as the College moves toward pre-COVID operations.
Dr. Mark Escamilla, Del Mar College President and CEO

DMC will continue to follow the recommendations of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and local authorities to reduce the spread of COVID-19.

Additionally, the College is now under Return-to-Campus Phase 3 conditions, meaning campuses are open to all students and staff. For more information about Phase 3, visit delmar.edu/rtc/phase-three.html.
