IMPORTANT MESSAGE: Tropical Storm Update (Sept. 12, 2021)

(Posted 3:35 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 12) The Del Mar College Crisis Management Team met today, Sunday, September 12, to assess weather conditions associated with Tropical Storm Nicholas. Currently, a tropical storm warning and several watches are in effect throughout the Coastal Bend region. Click here for the latest updates from the National Weather Service. 
As of right now, there are no college closures in place and it is anticipated that classes will continue as scheduled tomorrow, Monday, September 13. The Crisis Management Team will continue to monitor conditions throughout the evening and early morning. Messaging will be posted if it is determined that weather conditions will affect college operations.
Please continue to monitor the College's website at www.delmar.edu, College social media sites or local news media for further updates. 
This is a good time for all employees to review personal storm plans, monitor local weather reports and be mindful of the Hurricane Preparedness tips listed below.
  • Plan now – don’t wait until the last minute;
  • Gas up your car;
  • Stock up on water;
  • Click here to review hurricane preparedness guidelines issued by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).
As always, we advise everyone to exercise appropriate caution for their personal travel and safety situations through this and all weather events. Please avoid flooded areas and roads – Turn around, don’t drown – and observe beach conditions, including riptides.
