Phillips 66 Presents $10,000 in Scholarships to Del Mar College Students
Del Mar College Foundation received scholarship award while alumnus Isaac Hinojosa reflected on his journey from Viking to Phillips 66 operations supervisor

Phillips 66 presented a $10,000 contribution to the Del Mar College (DMC) Foundation during an event on Thursday, Aug. 13, 2026. The contribution will fund scholarships for students enrolled in Del Mar College’s Process Technology and Instrumentation programs. This marks the second time Phillips 66 has supported the DMC Foundation through scholarship funding following a previous $10,000 contribution in 2020.
Isaac Hinojosa, a Del Mar College alumnus and Phillips 66 Coastal Bend Operations Supervisor, shared how the college's workforce programs shaped his path from student to industry leader and reflected on the direct connection between education and career opportunity in the Coastal Bend. Hinojosa earned his Associate of Applied Science degree in Process Technology from Del Mar in 2014 and joined the Phillips 66 Coastal Bend facility in 2020.
As a Del Mar graduate, I know firsthand how the education received here can prepare someone for opportunities throughout their career. I hope this contribution reminds students that Phillips 66 believes in their potential and recognizes the role they can play in the future of this industry.

Del Mar College enrolled 11,882 students in fall 2025 with nearly 80% of students working while pursuing their education. Career and technical programs continue to represent a significant portion of enrollment, including Welding Applied Technology, which accounted for 8.4% of students and ranked as the college’s fifth-highest enrollment program.
