"The Story of the Horn" Explores Use of Seashealls as Earliest Horns

Article by: College Relations

The horn has a vast history spanning back to the earliest humans, appearing among all of the world’s cultures in one form or another as a symbol, a sound producer, a utilitarian device and a musical instrument. As technology and human culture have evolved, so too has the horn.

View the first episode of a new series, "The History of the Horn," a collaboration between Del Mar College Professor of Music Karl Kemm and College Relations staff with Media Relations (Communications Specialist Mike Bratten) and Del Mar TV (Media Production Manager Gerard Munoz and Media Production Coordinator Robert Perez, Jr.).

This new series will explore the horn’s role in our history with this episode covering seashells, one of the earliest horns.
