Think like a Viking! DMC Rallying Up with Early Registration for Spring 2020

Article by: Melinda Eddleman

“Think like a Viking” and begin your next journey by taking Del Mar College (DMC) spring 2020 credit courses. It’s a good time to start working toward that certificate or associate’s degree for high demand jobs in the Coastal Bend’s workforce or earning the first two years of core courses transferable to a university for further study.

Research shows that students who register early tend to do better in school because they get the times they need and the instructors they want, along with having plenty of time to plan their schedules around work, classes and any other issues they may face while attending college. I encourage both current students and anyone considering enrolling at Del Mar College for spring classes to take advantage of our Registration Rallies so they can complete admissions and registration processes early.
Dr. Rito Silva, DMC Vice President for Student Affairs

Early Registration starts Monday, Nov. 4, and DMC is rallying up to get individuals fired up and registered! Registration Rallies are scheduled 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Nov. 4-5 in the Harvin Student Center on the East Campus at Baldwin Blvd. and Ayers Street.

During each rally, participants can learn more about admissions, financial aid, student resources like the Viking Go app and other student services OR receive advising before registering for courses. Other services those two days include:

• TSI walk-in testing scheduled 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Nov. 4 and 8:30 a.m. until noon Nov. 5, and
• a FREE vaccination clinic (required meningitis vaccine) available 2 to 5 p.m. Nov. 4 and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Nov. 5;

Rally organizers will have food (breakfast, lunch and afternoon snacks), games, activities and music. Individuals who register Nov. 4-8 for spring classes can even snag a FREE t-shirt (while supplies last) by taking their schedule to the Student Enrollment Center on either the East or West Campus.

Want to know more about admissions and registration at Del Mar College? Contact the Student Enrollment Center at 361-698-1290 or enroll@delmar.edu or visit the College’s registration page for more details at www.delmar.edu/current-students/registration/.

For anyone who can’t attend one of the two Registration Rallies, don’t worry. The College’s registration period continues throughout the fall semester.

Spring 2020 credit courses begin Monday, Jan. 13.
