(EDITOR'S NOTE: Due to impending weather, the facility location for the carnival has changed to the Emergency Training Building (FEMA Dome). The carnival will take place at the same time…same campus…different location. See you there!)

Almost like that famous line in the horror flick “Poltergeist,” instead of “They’re here!” … “We’re back!” And, bones will clatter and teeth will chatter as Del Mar College and the Student Leadership & Campus Life Office hold the popular spooky fun fest––the Viking Halloween Carnival––on Friday, Oct. 28, after a two-year absence.

Featuring goblins and games, prizes for best child and adult costume categories, food and fun for everyone, this family-friendly event runs from 5 to 10 p.m. on the College’s Windward Campus in the Emergency Training Building (FEMA Dome). The campus is located at 4101 Old Brownsville Road (78405). Get online directions and campus map.

For more information, contact the DMC Student Leadership & Campus Life Office at 361-698-1279 or scarreon3@delmar.edu.

As a fundraising event for DMC Registered Student Organizations (RSOs or student clubs), participants can expect a howling good time while helping these groups raise money for their organizations and the worthy campus and community causes they support. Participation cost per booth a nominal.

Currently, 19 Del Mar RSOs, four Collegiate High School clubs and the DMC Dual Credit Program are lined up to offer food and activities ranging from concession stand snacks like Frito pies, nachos, popcorn, corn cups, chips, cotton candy, candy bars and drinks to good old-fashioned games and activities such as corn hole and bean bag tossing, dinosaur digs, balloon pop and face painting, among many other carnival-type games.

So, if you’re looking for some pre-Halloween family fun, join Del Mar College as we “scare up” a “ghoulish” old-fashioned time!
