Article by DMC College Relations Office

The Del Mar College (DMC) Board of Regents will hold a workshop at 10:30 a.m. and their regular monthly meeting at 1 p.m. via video and/or telephone conference call on Tuesday, Dec. 8, at the Isensee Board Room in the East Campus Harvin Student Center.

Prior to the regular meeting beginning, the Board will swear-in the candidates who won the three seats on the Nov. 3 General Election ballot, including new member Laurie Turner, Ed.D., elected for the District 4 seat and incumbents Dr. Nick Adame and Carol A. Scott, who retained their At-large seats. Terms for these Board seats will run through 2026. Risk Management director Jessica Alaniz, who oversees the DMC Board of Regents election process, will officiate the swearing-in of all three Regents.

Members of the public will not be able to attend the workshop or monthly meeting in person, but they will be able to view them online or access by telephone.

Due to health and safety concerns related to the COVID-19 pandemic crisis, this meeting will be conducted in accordance with guidance from the Offices of the Governor and Attorney General, and the provisions of Sections 551.122, 551.125 and 551.127 of the Texas Government Code and other open meeting requirements, that have not been suspended by order of the Governor. DMC Board members and administrators in attendance will also practice social distancing and wear face masks or coverings.
